| The Civil Rights Committee attended the International Conference on Civil and Human Rights in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on December 9th through December 13th, 2009. Committee members heard stirring speeches given by Labor leaders (including USW President Leo Gerard), International Organizers and long-time Civil Rights activists. There were community projects and workshops and plenty of handouts and information. and represent Local 8599 amongst over 450 of our Steelworker Brothers and Sisters. Want to see pictures? | Committee activities: |
| Local 8599 visited the Museum of Tolerance! Bus transportation was provided. The committee would like to say thanks to the members, to the Transportation Department for discounting the bus fees, and to the MOT for the great group rate on the ticket package and the personal guided tour we received. |
